Can you identify these?
Can anyone identify these JBL speakers?
They're on consignment for a relatively good deal and I'm curious to learn what they are. They appear to be in relatively good shape but no model markings were immediately apparent other than the crossover which was JBL. I think these are circa 1950's.  image-609261291.jpg

Jayson.......It is an Altec Lansing speaker from 1954. These were the times when Altec and JBL were producing speakers under the name Altec Lansing. Take a look at the center speaker at the top of this 1954 catalog page. The speakers in your photo could be JBL's version from the same design.
 The speaker driver is probably an Altec 604E duplex speaker in the Altec 606 corner enclosure.  Take a look at speaker C from this catalog page and the information below.

After some more research based on Dan's reply it appears this is an Altec 606a.
Still looking for more details but at least I think I know the model number now.

Jayson.......I suspect the speakers may have been modified. The JBL N7000 crossover is a product of the early 70's and would not have been available in the mid 50's. That makes me even more suspect as to what drivers are in the cabinets. If they are the Altec 604E duplex speakers then the price of $1500 is a bargain. Ask the seller to remove the back cover and provide photos of the drivers.

Jayson.......The Altec N-1600A dividing network is more typical of the crossover one would find with the Altec 604C or 604E duplex speakers from the mid 50's.
