I hear them mentioned quite often. I don't think there's any secret that they are really great speakers, especially at that price point.

I've been into music and reading about high-end for many years. I haven't heard them mentioned to often. As far as being "really great speakers, especially at that price point." There isn't always a correlation between cost vs performance. As you know I've owned Wilson Sophia 2s, 3s, and Sashas. I've had all of them in the same room. Honestly, I would take the 7Ts over all of them. This hobby can be be very challenging. Everything seems to be driven by price and owning products by certain companies. I can't speak for everyone, but I wanted to own Wilsons because they were Wilsons. I own Aerial because of the way they play music. The mid-range and overall sound is just so natural.

Very nice. I have had my 7Ts a little over two years, and continue to be impressed with how well they work.

One point to know is you might be able to 'inexpensively' greatly improve their performance. About 6 months ago I replaced the stock jumpers with Shunyata VTX-11 jumpers, and was amazed. I was telling people I had a new pair of speakers since, to me, the improvement was that obvious.

I'll look into the Shunyata VTX-11 jumpers today. How much are they?

According to thecableco.com/Product/Reference-VTX-Jumper--Pair they are $800 to $1,200 per pair depending upon termination (bananas are more expensive than spades.)

The prices/listing on The Cable Company website are out of sync with current products. I ordered the Reference VTX jumpers, and received the VTX-11 jumpers for $400. The VTX-9 are probably higher.

I know that there isn't always a correlation between cost and performance, but usually there is some relation. I also know that the 7t is very good, a value. I'm surprised you like it better than all those Wilson's you mentioned, but I'm really happy you found the sound you are looking for!

You are right, there's a lot of brand loyalty and group thinking around certain products. The main reason I own the products that I do is my dealer carries them and lets me take home whatever I want. If he had aerial, who knows what would end up in my living room!

I submit we are all limited to components we have access to and/or what we can get at a good price. I have grown to prefer a neutral to slightly warm sounding speaker. Wilson's are great with dynamics, they disappear, and have pinpoint imaging. In my room the Aerial's are a little less dynamic, they disappear, have pinpoint imaging, throw a bigger soundstage, midrange is much more natural, bass more tuneful, and they are better at placing instruments in space. Most importantly I enjoy listening to music and have stopped thinking about every little detail. That being said, there are many that do and would prefer every Wilson speaker that I've owned over Aerial 7Ts.
