There is a new one, and a works team to race it in ALMS. I took this photo at Petit Le Mans 2012. It didn't finish the race, but they only entered it in the series late in the season. It still needs some development and teething, but has potential.

Didn't really mean in the racing world. I cannot even remember that last time I viewed a Viper in the wild. As for who beats who on race day, I think that's as much about strategy, some good luck, and the driver.

Great Pic! I am going to try and go to ALMS race at Road America this year. Looks like a pretty good time.

Thanks.

Road America is awesome. I recommend that event highly. We might be there too.

This will be the last year to see LMP1 cars in action.

Car development is key. You cannot be successful with strategy, luck and drivers if the car isn't at the top of its game.

I disagree somewhat, because in all my years of race watching I've seen the best car loose on many more than one occasion.

Feel free to disagree. I've also been to plenty of races, including a dozen or so endurance races. Anything can happen in a single race. That's the nature of racing that good cars can DNF for various reasons. But on balance the best cars, and programs that can put the money into their development, win the championships. It's a package deal. One cannot have a successful race team without a great car. They need great drivers and crew too, but the cars are still key to the effort.

Speaking of Vipers, who likes the new SRT Viper? I do!
