That must be a big room !….the L300 is not exactly a small speaker. I am also a huge fan of your 250Ti’s ! Last year I picked up a pair of L71 Verona’s. They are currently in storage and I need to get them back up to where I live but I am looking forward to hearing them. I am a huge vintage JBL fan – let us know what you end up going with.

I rather share the view of Cornholio. I love the L300, and while it isn't exactly little, as lakesailor points out, it is too short and too wide to meld well with my present system. I've been way too long accustomed to my taller (48" high) L220A's. In a different room and setup, if I had the opportunity, I would still love to assemble an L300-based system, just for fun. The only system I would consider replacing my L220's with would be the L250 or 250ti. But then, as I said earlier, I didn't see a need to change 30 years ago when the L250 was introduced and probably wouldn't now. I still marvel at their beauty to this day....but I will likely stay with my L220A/B460 combo for the foreseeable future. They meet my needs very well.

Pete.......Having enjoyed hearing your sound system, and being the big JBL fan that I am, I say you would be hard pressed to improve the sound you presently have by moving to another model of JBL speakers. Your JBL L220A's could fill up a room four times the size they presently reside in with amazing sound and rich solid bass. The L220A's, together with the B460 subwoofer and active crossover, with all three speakers powered by their own separate McIntosh MC501 amplifiers, it would be difficult to raise the bar on that set up. You've got the JBL and McIntosh sound galore. No reason at all to ever move away from that.

Cornholio....I can recommend the L220 without hesitation. With the B460 sub to compliment them, it's tough to beat, at least in my world.

They do have that type of "flavor" you seem to be longing for....not too analytical, but they still give loads of detail and with a great presentation.

Thanks! These photos are a couple of years old, there have been several improvements to the system and room since then. I've been meaning to put some new pictures up, but right now I'm having trouble (as are others) with the photo sharing service I use.

The system is sounding quite good these days, but of course it's a continual work in progress type of thing. I have a few more things I hope to do by years end....

All I can say is that you have the coziest listening room I ever saw. Sure blows away all these sophisticated high tech Hi End listening rooms in my book! Never invite me to your place, because you will have to drag me screaming from you room!

Thanks very much....Since these photos were taken a DAC has been added to the system, a small Crown amplifier added to the main equipment stack, (as a headphone amp) and a few more smaller acoustic room treatment panels added.

I've also very recently made up some nice walnut end panels for a couple of the smaller components in the main stack. I'm a big fan of wood, and this is in large degree what gives the room its warm appearance.
