Will 3D make it?
I definitely have zero attraction to 3D, which makes me wonder; do you think 3D will be successful and make in the Home Theater marketplace?

Not in its present form.
I have no interest, heck, I have NO TV!, ok, I have a TV, but no HT. 3D has been around for decades, so it isn't going away, but I think 3D will be one of those niche novelties for some movies in theaters, particularly IMAX. My TV is 3D capable but I've never tried it out or really even thought about trying it out. I don't hear of much interest in the 3D thing...so I'd have to say my vote would be "no".

I have had it for a couple of years now and have tried it a couple of times on the DirectV channels that they have dedicated for it. Not something I would watch all the time but some of the football was interesting. The problem is they do not have all of the same camera angles that they have for non 3D,
I doubt it will ever be as big in the HT as it is at the movies. They get your extra dollars up front at the box office where it is a draw, and really don't care if it translates to the small screen. IMAX and Cinerama never show well at home either. Jim

It's great for sports, but it also requires a major commitment from the networks as far as cameras, which doesn't seem to be happening. They seem to be waiting for audiences, and audiences are waiting for content.
3D gaming is unbelievable, and I haven't even seen it with the new operating platforms, so if you like that kind of thing it will be worth it to go 3D with your next set. Maybe 2014 or so.

My HT is 3D capable, but I'm really not interested in it. All I want when I watch tv or a movie is a great picture and sound. I don't want things flying out at me! And it seems that alot of the movies lately are filmed with effects that are specifically for the 3D audience. It actually gets a little annoying I think. So to answer the question, NO I don't think 3D will be the norm, but I do think that it will be popular with some viewers.
