I will order Mk2. Do not forget that my local importer was totally honest with me, he even showed me PP presentation about TAD product plans for next two years.
Word is that sonic difference between Mk1 and Mk2 is within 1% margin. So, from sonic point of view you shoudn't worrie.
But I agree with you that both your dealer and TAD representative did not treat you with 100% respect. That is a shame IMHO. What they houl do is to offer a HUGE discount on any future purchase from you.

Good info thanks a lot. Also very interesting link. Will run the translation and see if I get some info.

I would go a little farther than that. It is clear by now they knew. Or at least the guy from TAD with whom I spoke several times and changed mails. Not sure about my dealer. I can not see how he did not knew of it, but after all these years and all purchases I made from him, I can not believe he kept that info away from me.

I think what they should do is offer me a discount on the model 1 I have, similar to the depreciation of it; so that they will have to offer now to clear the stock of MK1s now.

Anyone knows or can find out what that may be?

Or swap me to MK2.

In any case, you are going to love them. They are fantastic speakers. Truely special.

I don't think there is any stock of MK1.
I think they're built on request.

Can anyone (who can read Japanes) confirm for me just to be 100% sure, that there is NO change to the CST drive unit and that it is PURELY a change to the woofer material?

If anyone can find out the confirmed reasoning behind the material change this would also be very much appreciated! thanks alot!

There are a few on stock. They build sets on request but have always a stock of few extra around the globe. I was told they try to group orders to manufacture a few together, but if there is an order for one and no new order comes in they will build a few units to serve the order and try to sell the others to dealers or stock them.

My pair was on stock at TADs european central wharehouse, I was told.

I asked my dealer and he explained that there is no difference, they simply sourced the cone material from a different supplier. It has a slightly different sheen but it is the same material with the same spec. and should not have been called MKII. Until we have further facts, it's still a bit of a mystery. This does not make me feel much better.

It does seem odd they would change the model number, not very good marketing.
