Indeed. That is way to do it. Could be frustrating with the wrong equipment/ammo and a poor idea of how to accomplish your goal of breaking clays.
A good book that gives you the basics is http://www.amazon.com/Breaking-Clays...sporting+clays. Covers about everything. But, going out with a decent shotgun (as you are used to the longer action of a pump, sticking with a semi-auto will seem more familiar), proper ammo and some instruction is the best you can do. Once you've gotten a few rounds under your belt, we will have to get together with Dave and any other interested parties for an AAf sporting clays event during cooler weather.
