I like that the huge dlp is not between the mains anymore. I haven't re calibrated yet but the voice clarity, imaging and bass improved.

Thanks... I chose well with the display. Now to prove the tech at the store wrong by programming a new mx890. They said it takes a genius to figure it out, that is why they stopped letting the public do it. URC kept getting the remotes returned. I explained that I understand the program and they are taking bets to when I will come back to pay the $250 for programming. I probably don't have the patients to learn the program from scratch but I learned through trial and error years ago with a MX 850, so I'm good.

Interesting, with the Xbox One you have should be able to do some of the programing when it comes to watching TV, Games and Movies, no?

I just say "Xbox, On, Go to Plex" and then I chose one of my Blu-ray rips. Then "Xbox, Volume up" and if I have to "Xbox, pause/play" for snack breaks.

I gave up on the URC and Logitech remotes after I started using the Xbox voice commands. Unfortunately no Hi-Res music *thing* supports Xbox unless I convert all MKV like formats.

The xbox one won't control the processor and the processor controls the signal. I could probably set it up to change channels, but xfinity has a lot of functions I use that won't be voice comandable. I only shut the xbox down by voice. Also maybe i just need an update but my xbox one dosen't send the good blu ray codecs, only dolby digital over hdmi. So I do not use my xbox for blu ray.

Lou,

What I found out with my MX880 and the URC programming with the Sony XBR was to build in a LOT of delay for it to switch inputs.

It may have been an issue since I also have to switch inputs on an older MX119 pre-amp but in one case switching from the ethernet connection to one of the HDMI inputs on the Sony takes almost 8 seconds.

That is the stuff I was using to get my point across to the salesman. I explained that there is a lot of tweaking of the macro order and delay times to get it right for a particular system. I know how my processor acts differently when it starts up from a hard shut down or when it is in stand by. No one is going to come in cold, and in a couple of hours figure out how my system acts better than I already know. It cant be done in one sitting, it takes a week of trial and error to get it right. As I am familiarizing myself with the program I read you can make discrete codes with if/then commands. Very nice!
