Ryan and I briefly discussed the new C12000; he didn't have one in the store and said when he does, they leave as quickly as they arrive.

I do agree McIntosh has really pulled off a feat with the pricing on both the MCD12000 and C12000....and yes also the new 3500. While certainly not cheap (way over my budget at this time) when they were introduced I said that the prices on the C12000 and MCD12000 were really not as bad as I expected.

I have to admit I really find it hard to look away from the C12000. Since I purchased my first MDA1000 from Ivan, I've considered a number of times jumping into a second hand C1000. I have to say though, that the physical depth of these units is really a problem for my setup. They are deep!! I see that the depth of the C12000 chassis is much more manageable, and it would be feasible in my setup. Unfortunately, the price is not...

Speaking of large, I still have a huge McIntosh carton sitting in my living room, containing my "spare" MDA1000 that I purchased from AC. It arrived just over a week ago. I have to admit, it may have been a tad bit crazy to fork over the cash for a second one, but the price was very good and I have to admit I don't mind having two of these beauties in my stable. If my primary unit ever needs repair again, I need not do without. My primary unit is still working perfectly and is still in pristine cosmetic condition.

As soon as I fully recover from Covid, I'll be taking the spare down to my storage unit.
Take care of yourself regarding the Covid. Been there, done that. It was annoying. Your case may be better or worse than mine was, but the same applies: we take care of ourselves and deal with it as best we can.

I'd figured that out, but wanted to confirm it by putting it out there in a place where folks know more than I about this audio stuff and component features. This was the perfect opportunity, since you also own a C2300.

If available, I would consider a SweetVinyl SC-1 or SC-2, but they weren't last I checked. Some of my older records could use the de-clicking help, and I could use the SRVR input/output for the SweetVinyl unit.

Not to continue off topic, but good point, prepess, the tape loop is also handy for processors like the Sweetvinyl units...or even Mc's own MEN220. Like I said, it is what it is, but how much more can it cost to add this feature. Other high end manufacturers like Accuphase still have a tape loop. Anyhow, back on topic to the MCD12000...

I can't afford one so the MCD1200 should be "off topic" for me anyway (), but it's still an interesting unit and I am curious to know what it sounds like, especially relative to other SACD players. You have an MCD500 I believe, same as I do, so that would be the relevant comparison. But for the price it would need to be WAY better to justify the purchase, in my opinion, even if I had the money.

My MCD12000 landed this week. I’m planning to put in my system this weekend.
Will share some pics and impressions once I have hooked up.
Stay tuned…

Dang, that was fast! Congrats and if you don't mind, I'd be curious to see how its SS output stage compares to the output of the D150.

Jon, absolute congrats! I can hardly wait to see the pics and hear your impressions.

Best

p.s. It's great that it arrived so quickly. This gives me hope for future purchases.

Isn't a C22 essentially an "all analogue C2750" at a couple of thousand less than a C2700?
