Just caught wind of this....wow. Does look pretty sweet, no surprise there. Wonder how it will stack up against the JL Gotham-I think that pumps out $4,000 watts. Amazing stuff...

I’m currently running dual Gotham’s (rear) and dual F113’s (front)

Definitely no shortage of Bass.

Just finished talking with my Mac friend for an hour. It's an incredible subwoofer, long overdue. Net weight is 458 lbs. and height 78 and 5/8 inches. The class D amplification will allow the sub to achieve the 2K watts. It's incredibly well braced. It's the natural companion to the XRT2.1K and a smaller more affordable brother will be on the way. I have been telling Mac for years they needed a sub and now finally, they have produced one.

They have produced subs in the past, but it's been a pretty good while and they were nowhere near on this kind of scale. Our old friend Dan aka jdandy had a pair in his studio 5.1 system.

Pete, I don't understand why Mac quit selling subwoofers. It made no sense to me that a company that could produce an XRT2K could not produce a companion subwoofer. It is extremely expensive but two will elevate an XRT2.1K to reference levels. If 1 owned a 1.1K I would wait for its smaller brother. Folks have a lot of money these days and having matching subs to compliment the beauty of the 2.1K will be highly desirable, I think this combo will effectively replace the XRT2K from its exalted position. Because of my room the big Mac speakers are not an option but I can see some rich folks already drooling over the 2.1K/PSK combo.

At 458 pounds this thing would tilt my house..! If they are really coming out with a smaller brother, I would certainly like to see it.

I have to admit that I do not understand their speaker offering. Are they really in the same league as Wilson, Magico, Rockport...? My sense is that there are a small number of people who buy out of brand loyalty and/or a purchase decision that is not based primarily on sonics.

I hope others will chime in if they have purchased Mc speakers after comparisons to other major brands. Thanks
