This is weird. I have 3 V2 power cord for almost 1 year now. So far no issues. I am in Singapore and the weather should be similar to Thailand.

I think should ask Nordost to fix. They charging premium for their products and should rectify it.

Mine is older at 5 years old.

the entire surface of the cable has become sticky to the touch, similar to BMW E46,E39 interior, within first two years, how about yours ?
But when it come back from first repair last year, the sticky was completely gone, I Am not sure that they cleaned it or they just
give me a new cable in the old serial no.

in my room without AC off, the temp varied somewhere between 28-32 degree C with 50% humidity year round depend on the season.

the pieces you saw, it did not just falling like that on its own. if you left it still you will mostly unable to see those flaws, until you grip it
you pull it and you may feel something is loosing and when you examine more, then it disintegrated in your hand. Mine looked fine
until it subjected to some force. normal force from normal use of course, nothing brutal.

You have lifetime warranty and I would certainly ask Nordost to correct. You could even ask Nordost to terminate with Furutech NCF which would then not void your warranty and support.

The last time they told me not to use Furutech because
The Halo is intended to be low-mass design.
Last time I asked them can I put FI48NCF on it by myself.
They insisted in Halo plug repair.

I got a short reply from them.
Their staffs are in the meeting discussing about this issue.

Default Nordost quality concern

What I worried the most was that mine might be a Chinese version or counterfeit like that.

But as I sent the cable back to Nordost to have it repaired last year, they
Repaired it and sent it back. So It can’t be.

Is this box correct ?

For the time being, better than leave an expensive cable on the floor.
I connect it to Esoteric master clock, turned out to be good.
If Nordost not helping this time, I will use aluminum tape to secure
Loosen parts and just leave it on the master clock.

1 of the 3 around 1 year old, the others less than 1 year still.
So far I don’t encounter any sticky surface yet. Will continue to monitor.

I will check with my dealer here to see if he encounters problem like yours, He has been selling Nordost for many years.

Regarding the development of a sticky coating on the cable, is there any smoking going on in the room? I have seen cables coming from a smoker's home with such a sticky coating that has developed over time.
