Default Stylus Care: What's Your Method

I am learning how to care for Ortofon Windfeld Cartridge and Stylus.

I am using two Last products as well as a gentle brush. [See photo] Because I am so thorough cleaning my vinyl, I rarely use the brush.

Suggestions and what is your method?

I'm thinking about getting a Zerodust, but how much different in function and performance is it than M.E?
I am on the fence about using liquids on my stylus.

The Zerodust Stylus Cleaner looks very interesting!

See it in Action

I use the cleaner and brush that came with the Lyra cartridge I have . Like you with the new record cleaners their is less problems with dirt build up. I use the audio desk as it was the first one out. The others may be just as good or better I do not know . Your views on the Clearaudio cleaner interest me down the road.

Cheers

Your right about the Zerodust, James...Very effective, easy to use and should last a lifetime.
I also like a product from Lyra called SPT - Stylus Performance Treatment.

Here's a review from the Stereo Times...

Dave, I value your opinion. Tell me more about why you like this product. I'm thinking I should just buy it along with the Zerodust

I'm not a fan of using any liquids on my cartridges. The potential for damage is much too great IMO, as th fluid can creep up the cantilever.

I just use Zerodust on all of mine.

Music Direct suggests using the Zerodust before play and Last #9 after. I am more in Ivan's camp by using the Zerodust alone.

I have used Last products, specifically numbers 4 and 5 for years with many different brands of cartridges over the years. I never had any related problems arise with their regular use. However you should be aware that Ortofon specifically advises against using any liquid stylus treatments with their cartridges. Since you have a relatively costly model of theirs I would suggest sticking to their recommendation to use Zerodust. They actually endorse the use of Zerodust, so you should be safe using it with your Windfeld cartridge.
