I didn't see any price list and it was a casual conversation but it was being thrown out around 15%-20% for the 800s. He didn't know or would not say what upgrades that included. Take this with a grain of salt, it sounded like he only saw the price briefly and didn't commit it to memory. I would not want to mislead anyone here with bad info. We will see if I was correct in a couple months.

Seems like it will put the 800D4 at around $35,000

In Canada, if 20% the price would be $44k+ for 800D4 and $8,500 for the HTM1D4. Ouch!

Makes my 800D in Golden Cherry with the warm patina even more appealing. I would think the values should hold up even better for the older series.

Me, I'm waiting for 804, so, my expectations are low and reasonable
- 6-inch continuum drive
- maybe new shape of solid body tweeter, heavier
- maybe some new sound-optimized internal Matrix construction, not like "container frame" style
Design? D3 is already perfect. Can't imagine 804 adopts Turbine Head anyhow, but who knows...

I tried in vain to prize info from my local dealer today, but he was either genuinely uninformed or a very good pretender. The best he could give me was an opinion that the D4 would likely be an incremental improvement, similar to D1 > D2, and that the new models should be hitting the showroom floor sometime in August.

Fortunately, hindsight is only 2-3 weeks away.

June 1st. news release? Seems about right. My dealer for 20+ years won't budge either. It's very frustrating since I cannot purchase the D3 800, HTM1 models and not knowing what is to come. I've started looking at other options.

Hopefully at list we'll see Continuum cones upsizing as both 600 and 700 series adopted larger Continuum drives
