No matter what bedroom speakers I end up with (603 AE, 705 S2 or 805 D3) I'm looking at getting the Seismic sub. Used around $1k. From all the reviews, seems like a great sub. Specs shows it should go down to 20-25Hz.

Was at an audio shop a few years ago, and I guy was testing this sub. I couldn't believe how much bass it put out! And its very small. You can setup the room with ARC, which I already have with my Paradigm Sub 2.

My listening room upstairs is much smaller than my living area. I knew a smallish sub would be need up there to use with my Sf Electa Amators. I ended up with a Sf Gravis II and is a similar design to the RELs sans the freq fine tuning. I does a great job in that room and is not too obtrusive to the eyes - it has WAF.

I'm thinking of buying the 805D3 for use as near-field speakers on either said of my computer monitor. The speakers would be at least 5 feet apart and 1 foot away from the wall. Would this setup have any problems?

The problem will probably be finding a pair of 805D3s. B&W is in short supply until the D4s come out.

I have 805s in my main system, and my son sometimes uses my older CM-1s as monitors for recording and mixing. The good news is that the CM-1s are awesome for this, although he is more than a foot from the wall. Extending to the 805s--it's an awful lot of speaker and money for near field monitors, and you really should be more than a foot from the wall, but I think they'll still sound great. I guess if it were me, I'd go with something from the smaller less demanding 700 series (the CM replacements)

Personally I don’t think there will be a problem with nearfield and being 1ft away from the wall ...these Speakers are front ported - I actually enjoy listening to my 805D3 sitting around 1.5m away from them on our Ottoman stool at low-medium volumes (get less room interference and simulates more of a headphone experience) :-)
