Hi Guys,

Thanks for the help!! I had a brand new and updated WIFI router sent to me from my TV company so I hooked all of that up to check if it was that. The new one installed fine and I have managed to get the TV running and also two macbooks on the WIFI.

I STILL get the same issue..... It still doesnt find the MC200.

The unit looks fine. The lights are on near the cart5 and there is a little heat coming from the top as it does from other G series kit.

Is there any way to 'reset' the unit? perhaps it needs to download itself new software.....

There is a real delay on the posts as for some reason all posts need to be approved via a moderator..

I just want to get started

I'm at a loss on anything else you can do if you have made certain that a computer connected by ethernet cable to your router can access the network and the internet. I do not have my MC200 yet as it has not yet arrived in the U.S., so I don't have any way to test what works and doesn't work with one yet.

When the MC200 does see the network, it will need to be able to also see the Internet because it will check to see if it needs a software update and download it if needed.

Were you able to locate the device on the router (per previous suggestion)? If it's not there, it's a hardware problem probably the NIC (network interface card). If it's in fact there, it's the router. Probably a speed mismatch (10/100/1000, duplex, crossed etc.)

This of course assumes that the device wasn't shipped DOA!

Great news!!! I switched the unit off and there was still a light coming from the inside so I unplugged it totally and plugged it all in again and PRESTO!!!!!!!!

So now just starting to import some discs

I must say though....... I dont know if its just me being a bit slow but the interface is not what I expected.

- My mute/volume control doesn't work.
- Can I view the album artwork as a full page?
- Im also going through my G68. I used to have a G98 and just too out the SPDIF from the G98 L/R channels and connected it to the MC200. The problem is now I cant select the DIRECT output on the G68 which is what im used to. Does anyone know how I can solve this?
- I also cant access any info on the artist/composer ect...... which is a big reason for buying into sooloos. To link and discover more music. Am I missing something perhaps?

Im also a bit annoyed as I cant hook up my old laptop to the G68 to configure it as it has loads of FETCH issues and simply doesnt want to connect. Driving me crazy.

It would be great if it was somehow possible to hook up the USB out of the G68 instead of the RS232 port.

Any tips?

I presume you are using Control Mac for access. Please go to the Meridian Sooloos website and under Sooloos support, download the Control Web/Mac/PC User Guide. It will answer most of your questions.

I can answer a few here:

The Control Mac interface will not show the album artwork as a full page.

The volume control is for the analog outputs only, not the SPDIF digital output, which is fixed level.

To see the album and artist information, click on the "+" sign to the right of the album name. Then, click the button called "Show album details".

Hi,
Many thanks for your fast reply!!!! Im getting to grips with it now. The radio feature is really nice. That makes sense about the analogue out and volume.

I am actually using the ipad as the interface.....

-Can you display full album art on the ipad?
- can you view artist info from the ipad screen? When I tap the + symbol I just get the following - queue album/Play album next/Play album now/ect........
- Can you read reviews and access other info?
- Do you know what the tracks listed in blue mean compared to white in the track listings?

Thanks for the heads up on the Sooloos instructions. I will take a look. I cant find any instructions specific for the ipad app though.

It sounds awesome though!!!

You can't display the album artwork on the iPad app as anything other than the small version it shows in the upper left hand corner.

I think you will have to use the web browser interface (Control Web) or the Control Mac application to access the detailed album data, including reviews, etc. if they are present in the metadata that was downloaded when you added the album to your library. I can double-check later when I am around my system.

The different colors for the tracks represent some sort of popularity ranking that was included with the metadata, as are the stars for ranking the whole album. This can be changed from within Control Mac.

Hope this helps.

The tracks that are blue are "Pick" tracks. Pick tracks are the best tracks from an album and they will get played more durring "Swim" mode. You can edit the pick tracks from Control Mac.
