I'm still trying to wrap my head around what it takes to do a project like this. Amazing! Beautiful speakers.

Sets one thinking.... Drive units are easily available from Accuton , Scan-Speak and the likes. High quality X-over parts like capacitors, resistors , inductors and circuit boards can be sourced say from Mundorf. With access to the all important cabinetry manufacturing, you could commission a top D.I.Y 'er to lay out a project . It may sound crap in the end , but when one does the calculation, the mark up and escalating prices touted by the industry are simply astounding. We very well know that one pays for the makers R&D , various overheads , marketing and his skills as a designer . In some cases it is warranted , while in an increasing number there is IMHO just no justification . Just my 2 cents ...

A friend of mine builds his own speakers. He told me that he believes in an even number of drivers/tweeter, etc. total of 2, 4, 6 and never 3, 5, etc. His speakers sound bloody awesome. The bass he gets from a tweeter and a little 10 inch woofer is unbelievable.
