What is your budget? Do you plan on putting them on bookshelves, sitting on a credenza or speaker stands (the location of the port makes this a critical question. I have Dynaudio Heritage Special speakers. They would be considered “bookshelf” speakers by their physical size but their rear port means they would not fare too well on a bookshelf. They are wonderful speakers on stands in my room. I have them in a 12’6”x 16’3” x 13’ H room on the long wall and they easily fill the room with sound with no shortage of good quality bass (at least down to 42 hz anyway). I am thinking about adding subwoofers to see what they will add but the speakers are not, by any means, crying out for them.

Suggest to put the Revel Performa 126Be on the list (a bit over budget) or the M106 (under budget).

I set my sister up with the Klipsch Heritage Heresy IV in Walnut using a Naim Uniti Nova with a Rel Sub. She couldn't be happier.
Excellent low volume sound and very dynamic, able to easily fill most rooms without strain. They fit your budget and Made in USA. Tons of great reviews and many dealers offer a trial period. Best of luck!

My recommendation would be the new Mo-Fi SoucePoint 8 by Andrew Jones. $3K/pair. Just heard them at AXPONA and they were very impressive. Andrew said they go down to about 47 Hz w/o a sub.

Was very fond of my Canton Ref 9K and, unlike the Mo-Fi speakers, are made in a country (Germany) that is an ally and not an enemy (China). Although large for a bookshelf speaker, I think very highly of my current Triangle Magellan Duetto (France), which are front ported, so can be set further back than most rear ported speakers. Sad to see people pimping Chinese gear here while they continue to do so many things against our countries' (and all democracies) interests.
