Default ARC Ref 320M at Munich 2022?

Watching some Munich HiEnd videos. Came across this. https://youtu.be/WvJ5Kg5P8DY

Not a big ARC presence as far as I could tell.

Cool! I had said if there was another amp in my future it would be the reference 320… but of course there was no such thing. Glad there is now… although I may cringe at the price.

Now on ARC website. Price TBA. My guess is around $40K USD.

I'll say this the 3 or 4 years the McIntosh group owned ARC really rubbed off. They're building really nice looking amplifiers now.

Not sure why you would think that. The ref160 is 35k, so this should be above 60k.

Marc, it looks like a gorgeous amp. Do you find that your Ref 160's have enough power to drive your Alexx? I have felt that ARC has needed a more powerful amp to fill the large wattage gap between the 750 and 160. Do your meters ever flash clipping? I agree that ARC is designing stunning looking products. I am sure that they sound even better than they look.

Best

Charles

Hey Charles, sorry I missed this. My ref160's are capable of driving the alexx quite well. Sometimes I wish I had a little more grunt for bass control, but I definitely have enough power for dynamic swings and it will play loud!

That said, I agree with you that they need to beef up the current amp line. They had the ref250se, but it was an older design. The ref320m will be great. I just don't know if I personally would want to upgrade, I'm very happy right now.

I run my REF 160m monos in triode mode… so 70wpc… the meters never bounce beyond half way. But, in the past my experience more power always sounds better. I think that is because of transients and current to drive the bass. But I’ll have to give a pair a try and see sometime. I am not feeling anything is missing with my current system.

I love the idea the 320m would be $40K… but I am sure it will be well over $50K

Around $70K for the 320 monoblocks according to Trent Suggs in an interview.

The 320 monos are no longer listed on the ARC website. Did they can the model? Teething problems perhaps?
