Default Kahuna's New System

Hi all!

Well we finely moved out of our house where we had resided since 1997...it was time for a change! With that I had on my shopping list a theater room (though not as big a deal to me as it used to be), but more importantly a dedicated audio room...which I have never had! We moved in during the summer and it is still very much a work in progress, but I am enjoying the sound out of the new system so much, I never get it all cleaned up!

I started with digital only, wanted to get everything right with power and layout first, then plan to use my old Turntable (Pioneer Exclusive P10 Direct drive vintage machine), along with adding a new one.

Here is the layout so far;

Power: Shunyata Everest fed by Omega XR from Furtech GTX-D Outlet. Shunyata SigmaV2 VR to amp & DAC,

Interconnects & Speaker Cables: Shunyata SigmaV2

Integrated Amplifier; Dartzeel CTH-8550 Mk II
DAC; Esoteric N-01xd
Server; Roon Nucleus +/UpTone EtherREGEN/English Electric 8switch/ Shunyata Sigma Ethernet cables

Speakers; Stenheim Alumine threes
Subs; REL S812 x 6

A few pics, will be adding some more soon...

My buddy in the chair!

A few words about the sound...obviously I am coming from a completely different room, different speaker setup and power...only the Roon Nucleus+ & Esoteric player/DAC are the same. My previous system was Ayre MX-R Preamp, with MX-R amps into Wilson Sabrinas. I still have that system and hope to plug the Wilson's in beside my new speakers and do a comparison sometime.

In the meantime, I would describe the current setup sound as effortless, fairly neutral with lots of space between the instruments as well as a nice large soundstage. The drama that the subs can bring is absolutely stunning! I would say they are 80% dialed in...I will continue to try and tune them better.

In the end this system is just so much fun to listen to...I have not had a session less than 3 - 4 hours since setting it up...I just can't stop trying to find music to listen to on it.

Cheers!

Subs galore!
That is very sweet!
May I ask, how wide is your room?
I have 2 subs, JL Audio and thinking of trying Wilson Maxx 3 or entry level Alexx, not sure if my 10 foot wide room would support all of this.
And btw.. that Eames chair looks excellent. Looking for one soon.
Thanks!
Fred

Absolutely gorgeous system. I have to say that your choice of Swiss components is impeccable. I am sure the darTZeel CTH-8550 integrated and Stenheim Alumine Three complement each other sonically. The REL stack seems a perfect compliment to the Alumine three's from what I can read about the speaker. The Esoteric seems a superb choice for a CD/DAC. The ancillary gear well thought out. I like the way you have the subs in the same plane as the speakers. I can see why you are so pleased with the sound. Congratulations on a fabulous accomplishment!

Best

Charles

Fantastic looking system. What drove you to get so many subs? Wouldn't a pair be sufficient, what does the 6-pack give you? Just curious, I don't have any subs but have been thinking about it.
