Might as well stay with Luxman!

I will tell you that the MQ-300 tube amp sounds better than the 900 solid state amp though.

Greg - That may indeed be true within its power constraints, but 8 watts of output doesn't meet my needs so it's not a valid consideration. Thanks anyway for the input, I always appreciate getting other perspectives.

I run the Audia Flight Phono and find it to be a great performer in combination with the Luxman C-900u. Very flexible loading support with a fully balanced signal path using RCA inputs and XLR outputs, and up to 72dB active gain without any step-up transformers; effortless dynamics and great musicality without a hint of solid state grain. Not easy to find but well worth the effort if you have a chance to check one out!

Talked to Luxman USA a couple of weeks ago and was told to watch their Facebook site for new products, including the SQ-N10 (EL84) replacement.
Here are links to the current Luxman price list & catalog:

I am absolutely flabbergasted with the precence and tangible sound that this 900u combo produces with my Vivids. Extremely high build quality is icing on the cake.

Thanks for sharing your experience which just makes me want to add the M-900u power amp to my C-900u even more! The top level Luxman gear is indeed built to an exceptional standard, even the tactile feel of its controls simply exudes excellence and the highest level of refinement.
