Whew! Me neither. I was exhausted by just reading it[emoji23] But I suspect it will yield great results in a nice and evenly spread, dedicated listening room...

Great news! Speaking for myself, it took me a long time because I had no training in the process. It was a trial and error method. Someone who has the training and has done it many times should be able to do it in a few hours. Plus, having a second person to help you move and/or listen will cut the time down as well. Good luck!

So the dealer sent a great guy over to place my speakers in the best position possible.
They are now about 6ft apart and almost 5 1/2 feet out from the rear wall with a lot of toe in. The sound stage improved as did the centre image. He loaned me a pair of Kimber jumpers which made a huge improvement on the highs. Looking forward to receiving the WW jumpers I bought from Ivan. He did not perform the master series. He used his ears and experience to find what he felt was the best spot. Ive marked his position on my floor. I still think Im going to get a buddy to help me perform the Master Series procedure to see if i can improve on the results. That said...Im pretty sure Im going to need subs in the end. |

If a sub or subs are the finally answer, you will know you did all you could.
Sorry if I missed it earlier, can you describe your room. Dimensions, treatments, furnishing???

Carlos.......There's "sound right" and then there's "sound exceptional". It took me six months of thinking I was setup correctly before I mustered the energy to approach the Master Speaker Placement Guide. Two full days of pulling my hair out, some of which never grew back I might add, I managed to successfully achieve excellent results that clearly demonstrated that my original locations and sound were way off the mark. The process reads more difficult than it is to do, but it can be frustrating trying to intently listen to that acoustic double bass over and over while adjusting speaker locations, seeking that zone where the woofers couple with and properly load the room. That is the most difficult part of the whole exercise. The effort pays big dividends that make the task worthwhile.

Random questions and thoughts How far are you from the speakers? Less than 6ft? Until you properly place the speakers, you won't know the bass extension. Also might want to double check the seat location. |
