Thanks, I do like the new look; Walnut finish is lovely… one thing I cannot fathom is how the 805 Stand now costs nearly double…it was already a rip-off 8-}

Loving this flood of info today. Would love even more to see some specs numbers. Anybody?

I'm no longer an 800 series owner (I was) so you can tell me to buzz off, but does this announcement not seem a bit underwhelming? It looks like a new finish, some renaming, and some very small, invisible revisions internally. I know a lot of you waited a long time for this announcement and I am surprised at how little is changed.
That said, I wonder if they are still going to come out with an 800D4 later that is more impressive? Since the 800D3 was renamed to 801D4. |

It's funny though, I had the opposite reaction. New drivers, new cabinets--shouldn't that be enough for a marked improvement? I was scratching my head when folks were dissecting the looks of the D4 vs the D3, I would never upgrade for that. But now I'm looking forward to hearing them

The cabinets are only changed for a few models, except for the top plate, which is now aluminum. Again, kind of minimal, still mostly MDF/plywood from what I see. It's hard to tell from the marketing write-up how extensive these changes really are. But maybe they translate to a much better performer, who knows. Looking forward to hearing it. |

Because looks are everything. To each their own though.
