But like any product, if you misuse it,..especially a liquid,( a little is good...a lot must work better), or don't follow the cartridge manufacturer's instructions you can potentially create problems.

Even the Zerodust can be misused...
Just watch this fellow...he's asking for trouble... as is anyone who uses it this way.

Holy Moly... I am so not going to drive my Zerodust into my $4,000 Ortofon Windfeld in that manner.... broken Cantilever comes to mind... It hurt to watch the video.... now need to call my therapist LOL

THAT IS BRILLIANT!

I noticed that he let it sit for a period of time. I was under the impression it was was gentle cue down and immediately back up? To have it sit so long, dangerous? Though, I would guess the pressure into the Zerodust would be similar to the pressure on your vinyl? Anyway, done the correct way? and, do you just leave the Zerodust on your table and drop/lift with every side of vinyl you play?

Very effective but somewhat over aggressive for a modern stylus /cantilever.

Hey, there it is! The Audio Technica ultrasonic stylus cleaner. It has a very high pitch and I agree it works well. Have not used mine in several years.

Yes, good point. And the original original MCME had a blue side and a white side. Only use the white foam.

The thing is made of melamine foam by BASF. Though it is quite sturdy - I've use the same piece for years - it does wear similar to an eraser. That's why after using it I always give the stylus a gentle swipe with my artist brush.

Which leads to a tip for using an artist brush on your stylus: give the brush a roll on piece of blue painters tape (the sticky side) after you use it. Doing so cleans the brush nicely. I also touch my Audioquest record brush on a piece of painters tape. It picks up any loose carbon fiber fibers.

My Zerodust arrived. Nifty little thing isn't it. Scared the crap out of me. The gel kinda sticks to the stylus as I lift the tone arm. Is this normal and how often should I use the Zerodust?

It's normal, I use it at least after playing both sides of an album.

David.......I never let my stylus sit on the Zerodust more than a second. When the stylus touches the jell pad I say "one thousand one" and lift it immediately. If I need to, I will do it twice, but never for more than one second each time. Other's may use longer intervals but this routine has worked perfectly for me.
