I think the tweeters on the 804s' are the same used in the 803d's. If this is right I'm wondering what the reason might be that they sound so different? Maybe it is the difference in height off of the floor?

The 803d's have the diamond tweeter. The 804S' have the aluminum dome tweeter. My 804S' are well past 100 hours. The soundstage is nice they always seemed bright to me. I like to listen to Springsteen but on the 804S' I would turn the treble down or I couldn't listen to him. I am playing Bruce now on the 804D's (with no adjustment) and it sounds so much better than the 804S'.

Thanks Cyril. I really am liking them, just might be time to put the 804S on the Gon and on here. After this furniture/racks and make it all look nice.

Well I am really enjoying listening to the 803D's. Before I decide though are there any other recommendations for speakers I should listen to (Up to $7500.000). I do like the B&W sound. Most shops are over an hour away and most in opposite directions. Also will look to see if any are on the "GON" (used) nearby so I can listen. Will not buy with out listening first.

Thanks for clearing the tweeter difference up for me. I didn't know this. You now have me curious enough to go audition a pair! Sounds like they throw some serious music out! Best of luck with your new 803d's!!

Well my time with my 803Ds has come to an end. My dealer and I couldn't agree on a price so they will be going back. Not all bad news though I found another demo pair for $1100.00 less. Which I may go check out on Saturday. Only thing they are in black instead of cherry. Oh well, it will give me time to check out some other lines.
