Talk me out of or into a new TT
Ok, I have an urge to upgrade TT's.
I currently have a LINN LP-12 in my main rig and a LINN Axis as my second, or back up. The LP-12 has Ittock LV II, Sumiko Blackbird has been upgraded gone over etc. The table sounds sublime... I am only interested in upgrading to get some newer technology, upgradeable cables, better suspension, newer components etc. Any thoughts??? My budget would be in the 3-4k range and the New Linn Magik Package has been suggested and considered. |

"The table sounds sublime"... Sounds to me like you could leave well enough alone and still be happy.

+1. Go and get yourself a new pickup and you'll feel better- maybe a Lyra MC. Your Linn dealer will make sure your TT meets spec.

All good advice, my Blackbird is still really new and fresh, definitely not my week link.
As good as the Blackbird is, I am not sure that I don't like my Adikt as well. Keep the suggestions coming. |

I also concur that an upgrade to your phono stage and or cartridge will pay more dividends that sticking with your c2200 and blackbird and changing your tt.
I would do it incrementally. Get an outboard phono stage first, then get a good MC low output cartridge. howie |

Linn has a "one box solution" at around $2k. Naim Audio also has a couple of different models as well. Your Linn dealer will most likely try to get you to upgrade your power supply to the latest Lingo or even the new Radikal first then go over pickup options-FYI.
