Serge - we lived in Lambertville on Goat Hill in the '90's and Sundays, especially the first Sunday of the month, was an unofficial 'motorcycle day'. Bikes would be parked rear wheel to the curb so could get 4-6 in a parking spot and would not be unusual to have several hundred. But, always a few 'racer boys' who thought max noise, burn-outs and speed were needed, so the good times only lasted 3-4 years before laws were passed that mandated one (1) vehicle per parking spot, etc.

No more riding for me (motorcycle or bicycle). Have become cautious in my old age. Want that 'steel cocoon' around me.

Glenn, the great memories will always be there and are ours to keep forever.

Picture of my grandfather on his 1915 Harley-Davidson twin in 1916. He rode it the 60mi from the family farm outside of Enid, OK to school at Oklahoma A&M (now OSU) until he went off to WW1. Would be nice to still have.

Love Ducati. I had a 748S before kids. Loved it but it was not fun for long rides.

Very cool, thanks for sharing Glenn. Vintage motorcycles are going up in value big time as collectors have turned serious attention to them.

Time to update the thread and bring it into 2021.

Had a wonderful surprise of a phone call this morning from my Triumph dealer. While purchasing a few Triumph bikes in the last month from him, I mentioned I would love to own one of the few limited edition Triumphs that the factory does from time to time with different themes.

I did not think I would be fortunate to own 1 of 1000 Steve McQueen Individually numbered, Limited Edition, Triumph 1200 Scramblers XE !!

Certificate of Originality signed by both the President of Triumph and Steve McQueen's son!

But that is exactly what my dealer surprised me with this morning.

The bike is still in its original crate with 0 miles....

Not sure if I am going to actually ride this beauty or just admire it!
