If you are going Steinway you may as well go Grand.

John Lennon's Steinway
My piano teacher actually had a Steinway Grand, and it was always fun to play. The action of the keys to my hand and thought were amazing. Yamaha, Young Chang, Petrof, Estonia, all have differing tones, Petrof for me has this really pure tone, or at least the way that particular one was voiced, but still the Steinway has this feel, and it doesn't matter if it's an upright or a Grand, that feel is unique to Steinway. The action in other words doesn't feel mechanical, it feels like an extension of your thoughts. The 1098 while not being the biggest, I think it's only a 45", has a fullness of tone and range that to me is addicting. I can get lost playing it, more than some of the piano's I mentioned. Some things just fit better than others. Now If I could have a second piano... that would be a Steinway Grand
