Default Store and not use Mcintosh gear for a while. Anything I need to know?

Hi!
I have a couple of Mc501’s, c500t and mcd500 and because of housing arrangement needs to store the equipment in its original boxes in a large closet for a couple of years. The room is normal tempered with normal humidity.

Is there anything else besides that that I need to think about so it wont take any damage or anything from not be used for so long?

Thanks!

Dust everything off, pack them up and put them away with no worries. As long as they're stored in a temp and humidity controlled space, you shouldn't have any issues.

Another vote for the silica gel. I would also build a platform for the bottom box if you are stacking them in order to keep them off the floor just in case, you never know.

Yes. Two or three lengths of 2x4 will work to allow some air flow and kept any moisture from being drawn into the cardboard or amps.

Silica in the box, and clean them. off completely with a very well rung out damp micro fiber cloth... leave no dirt or dust on them whatsoever..
