I did mean Gen V XLs. I've since corrected the typo.

I concur.

What should be my next step ? My current SC is RMM8 or Reference MM (MM2).
Gen V REF XL ? Or is it time to go Opus.
Pity there is no upgrade program offered in my country. Expect 50% loss of value for resale my RMM8.

For Gen V Reference.
They suggest Hi Z IC model for source output impedance of 100 Ohm or more, and 0.25 Ohm or more for SC.
What do we do if source impedance is exactly that number. Should we go Low Z or Hi Z version ?

I was in this exact situation before and I was told to use the LOW Z version.

Thanks Tony,
My situation is that next year I will have someone coming back from the US, I will purchase new 3.0 meters long XLR cable from the US, and I think that will be Gen V Reference. It will be for my new phono stage which is still unknow yet by that time. If I chose Lo-Z, it will fit something like Moon 610LP, Accuphase C37. But if I choose Hi-Z, it will suit something like ARC REF2SE, LAMM LP2.1, Pass XP-25.
Yes I have to choose the cable before I choose phono stage. sounds unusual, that that's all about the timing.

One good reason to use LAMM LP2.1 , as RCA version of Gen V is half price of Balanced version..
