...ok, here's something new!
Did you know that the MDA would not accept the "Raw" Digital output from the Oppo DVD Player. Once I switched it to PCM, it works like a champ! Still haven't figured out the cable box yet, but I will.

My MDA1000 is extremely fussy. It refuses to play any accordion music and once, when Pandora piped some Michael Bolton, it froze and refused to play anything else for a full 24 hours .

All kidding aside, I've had not trouble with any sources, but I always use coax.

I got in here late, but just make sure everything is set to PCM, you can feed up to 24/96 (I have yet to attempt to try with anything higher) without a problem.

Also, I would use coax or aes/ebu over TOS.

Alberto.......I had the exact same problem when the Sonos ZP90 tried to send a Celine Dion signal through the MCD500 DACs. Locked it up for over an hour. I'll never make that mistake again.
