That is a a thing of beauty...

The RF system plays well with my lonely JL f113, but I still want to go with DIY Stereo Integrity 18"'s and try that out for awhile. Ideally, I would have a nice set of Khorns for the livingroom 2 channel AND a full assortment of heritage for theater. For me though, my current upgrade path is 1) Swap JL for 4 18's 2) Upgrade Denon 3808CI to Marantz 8801 prepro 3) Remodel theater.

After all that, which will realistically take a few years, I might start looking at switching into full Heritage.

What do you guys think Belle vs LaScala?

Never heard the Belle. Shallow depth?

Uses same everything as the LaScala.

My thoughts on the upgrade path.. 1) nope. 2) nope. 3) Yes.

on No.2 HT is at a stand still until there is some new Surround format for mass consumption. We are about to get a bunch of 4K products, If anything get something from Meridian which are video agnostic products and have their own separate component for video switching.

The room is the biggest component of a system. Every concert has to have a venue, every artist a recording studio, rooms where sound is the priority.

It is like the inverse is applied to consumers. The car is the worst place to listen to music. You certainly can and it is enjoyable. Still will all that road noise and cabin acoustics it is less than ideal. Yet most of us listen to a great deal of music in the car.

Next, the Livingroom. Almost all homes are designed without acoustics in mind. Yes, we spend a great deal of time there. Many listeners add acoustic treatments or design elements to overcome the original design of the home.

Concert hall/movie theater, You many spend 2-4 hours in a movie theater or concert hall in month. However 100% the design is geared toward best achievable sound quality. See my point? The average listener spends most of their time in less than ideal locations listening to music

I fully agree with everything you are saying about room treatments / design. I agree that the room is just as, if not more important than most components. And believe me, I have been putting a lot of thought into what I would like to do.

The two reasons for not squaring the room away first are 1) Kids are 2 & 3 and should be in pre school in a few years. 2) Wife may need to relocate career in the next few years which would require us to move.
