Yes, agreed, anything will move with enough force applied. I think the only way to track something like this would be to take pictures of the unit(s) after each major stage of the manufacturing process and before shipping? Then you could review the photo's to see at what point in the process the issue occurred. Just an idea and probably not very realistic. I also understand the human error component.

I did receive your email and will reply today. Another replacement unit would be the best solution for me, thank you for offering that option.

I previously have not experienced any issues with the other Ayre products I currently own or have previously enjoyed going back 15 years.

Quick report on the 3rd new QX-5 Twenty, received on Sep 5th.

My dealer checked over the unit cosmetically and thoroughly tested the unit. He offered to personally deliver the new unit to my residence (3+ hours travel each way), I graciously accepted.

I am very happy to report, no issues with the 3rd unit, with just over one full month playing time, it sounds fabulous!

I'm glad everything was received in good order for you. We're certainly not perfect, but we'll always do everything we can to make things right. Please let us know if there's anything else you need in the future, and enjoy the QX-5!

Hi Talos!

What do you think of your Simaudio/Moon combo 350P+400M?
Could you describe the pros and cons?
I am deciding whether to buy a Moon 340i or a Neo 350P+330A and
want to "pull the trigger" this week… My speakers are Focal Aria 936.
Especially I am interested in the volume scaling/behaviour of the 350P, did you recognize some lack of micro-dynamics and condensing of soundstage below at quarter/9 o´clock or less as mentioned in the review of Canada Hifi (Feb/march 2015)?? Do you agree?
Thank you for any input !!
Cheers
Felix

I mostly listen to music sent from Roon via ethernet to the QX-5/20. Although I've been powering up the QX-5, KX-5, and VX-5 with the remote before sending a file, I've recently discovered that sending a file to the QX-5 powers up the Ayre chain. In a previous setup, I had noticed sending a file via USB powered up the DX-5 DSD, but it was connected to a Parasound JC-2 preamp and JC-1 monoblocks, and the JC-2 needed to be powered by its remote. I assume the QX-5 powers up when it senses a signal and powers up the chain on the Ayre link.

Cool Any news on this tread

Hi guys,

I am now the proud owner of an Ayre QX-5 Twenty and will get it home soon.

Any of you guys have experience using this beauty with an Aurender W20, B&W 802D's and Accuphase E-600 (soon to be E-800) ?

Thank you for your input; all the best !

Default Ayre QX-5 Twenty First Listen

802D upgraded to 802D3. The QX/AX-5 Twenty LOVES this speaker.
