These established tweeter categories/designs exist for a reason: they each have a characteristic sound that is easily recognizable. Some audiophiles prefer the sound of a soft dome while others prefer the sound of metal. The soft dome in the Sabrina is a fine tweeter but it is not as expensive or as sophisticated as the Ti in the Sophia. It is not the same tweeter as in the new Sasha or Alexia but a scaled down version. The Alexandria II, Sasha 1, Maxx3, Sophia 2-3 have been reviewer favorites for years. They do not have a "fatiguing" treble even in the slightest. You all are basically saying you prefer the sound of a very fine soft dome to the sound of a very fine Ti, possibly the finest one ever produced. I have no problem with that. But I think you make a mistake when you call the new tweeter superior because it has a smoother sound. I agree. It definitely does. But this fact does not make it superior because the Ti has the metal sound the new tweeter will never match or duplicate. Here is the definition of a perfect tweeter: one that has the smoothness of a fine soft dome combined with the sparkle, openness/air, resolution, and speed of a fine metal design. As I said previously, it's a matter of taste or your "ears".

Well said Charles. Your thoughts gives me a solid footing to think about Wilson's change in tweeter philosophy. Before I bought my Sophia 3, I owned Dynaudio Confidence C1 speakers which employ a soft dome tweeter. Either one sounded great but I preferred the S3 by a long shot and so I ponied up the money and moved into a pair of Wilsons. My preconceived notion was the Ti tweeter would sound hot. Not a chance. I love the high frequency response of the Ti tweeter. I'm sure I would love the Sasha 2 dome tweeter too, just in a different way. For now, I'm still over the moon with Wilson speakers with Ti tweeters. In fact, I would not be surprised if I move into a Sasha 1 someday given the cost of Sasha 1 on the used market .....

So what about us who love tweeters found in latest Magico and not the Ti in the Wilson range
And I am a Wilson Audio fan, but I did not like that tweeter tbh; would love to have the Alexia tweeter configuration (with same performance) in their cheaper models but I doubt that is possible without radical design changes to those speakers even if they are using trickle down.
Cheers

I actually liked the Sasha 1 and it's tweeter. I also like the new CST but I can't put my finger on which is necessarily better or truer.

I happen to agree with Charles. I love the Ti tweeter in my Sashas. having heard the Alexia, Sasha 2 and XLF on many occasions, I cannot say that the soft dome was an improvement to me based upon my hearing range (to 15kHz) and, for example, the sounds of many different cymbals which the Ti tweeter nails every time. In fact, to my ears the Ti has more sparkle, but then again, it's all in the application. I suspect that if I had Sasha 2s next to my Sashas and could listen at length, there might be aspects of the new tweeter that I would prefer. One thing I can say for sure, I would not trade up my Sashas to Sasha 2s just for the new tweeter. I may look to trade up to Alexias at some point due to its many other features of which the difference in tweeters is not one.
