The midrange and treble sounded good but I was very concerned about the bloated uncontrolled bass. I listened for a long time. As I pulled out of the dealership it occurred I had a similar occurrence with my Thiel CS 5's and a Mac 2600. The Thiels had a very low impedance and out of the 8 ohm tap the bass was quite uncontrolled. Older Mac amps simply did not have the current. I called the dealer and explained what I thought I was hearing. I came back a month later and the speaker sounded so much better. Why do dealers do this sort of thing??: scratch2:
I think they want to "compare" speakers and be able to switch back and forth. It degrades the performance of both, of course. Soundstaging is particularly impacted.

Hello Guys,

I had a glorious day yesterday listening to some serious equipment and that included the Sabrina speakers and also the Alexia speakers.

The Sabrina speakers were being powered by Constellation monoblocks with a metronome CD Player as the source and they sounded delightful very subtle and agile speakers but could also play quite loud when pushed which surprised me considering there size, so overall very impressed with them but I went and listened to the Alexia's and OMG talk about blown away, can I sell a kidney or something these are the speakers that I will be aspiring to, they are the best sound I have ever heard in all my years of listening to HiFi, well I am a young chap at a mere 43 so not that old, LoL, but seriously if I could afford them I would not even hesitate, they sounded sublime on the end of both D'Agostino and Audio Research Electronics, I have fell in love with speakers and HiFi again

Giancarlo

Thank goodness you listened to the Sabrina before the Alexia
Will be interesting to see how the Sabrina compares to the Sophia 3 and Duette 2.
Glad you found your next speaker in the Alexia though

Cheers

Thanks Orb, I am totally smitten by these speakers!!

Yes it will be interesting to see how the Sabrina's compare to the Sophia's and Duette's, but from what I heard they can really sing well, well they did have monoblocks giving 500watts of power to each speaker from the Constellation electronics.

I have just been converted to a Wilson Audioholic, LoL...
