Default Demonstration of the Radialstrahler System mbl 101 X-treme

At $265,000 for these speakers, it is a very serious investment into the joy of musical reproduction. But boy do they deliver.

Heard them in Munich last year as well.

Which system would you pick for eternity? Living Voice or MBL?

Lottery ticket right?

Three rooms in custom house;

1.Legacy Valor

2. Living Voice

3. MBL

2 and 3 are interchangeable and a very tough choice...MBL does music on an even bigger scale than Living Voice.

I'm not kidding about #1 compared to 2 and 3.

The Valors are gorgeous speakers. Not sure how I feel about so much digital processing. I tend to take the purist approach with that stuff. Do you use the Wavelet processor with your pair?

Nice photo [emoji1787]

I know what you mean....I was the epitome of "don't you dare put anything non analog in my signal path after my DAC spits analog gold...." for many years.

Let's just say that with the right gear I am among the converted!

FYI, I use Wavelet only for Room Correction and 8-way active crossover. It is possible to use it as that plus DAC and preamp but I prefer better pieces upstream.

Is that your room? I found the pic on the Legacy website. https://legacyaudio.com/products/view/valor/

I hear you about better components as far as DAC and Preamp.

I am not against crossovers and in fact had great results with using an external crossover for a system some years back where it was inserted between the preamp and amp to split the bass off to the active subs and the rest to the amp and forward to speakers. This way neither the amp nor the speakers ever had to deal with below 75Hz signals. It was a huge advantage for tube amps as well as a much more coherent two way speaker that never had to deal with reproducing frequencies that were NOT its forte.

DSP I typically stay away from but would love to hear a Legacy setup with the Wavelet doing its thing.

Oh cool. I thought that picture looked familiar.

Perhaps when things are back to normal and I'm heading down south again we can get together for a listening session!
