I've had my N801s, N803s, N805s since mid nineties, can't remember which pair came first. In fact my most of the components for 2cnl and my surround are all from mid nineties. Only updates I've done over the years are a oppo DVD player and a cary audio streamer.
The way I look at it, I was very happy back then still very happy with them now.

I packed up the Fortes in 1998 in their original cartons and kept them in the basement until just a couple of years ago. I would take them out every year or two and oil the cabinets and play them for a few minutes. My nephew graduated from University, got himself set up in his own apartment in Chicago, and now has them hooked up to an ARC SP9 and Rotel power amp. They sound pretty good; not as good as my 802D3s, but livable. And for him, the price was right.

I owned 801F SP from 1987,... then switched to 800D2 in 2017 (or 2016 ?) - extremely satisfied with them,... 801F were driven by KRELL KAV150, and 800D2 are driven by McIntosh 452.

Over the years I’ve owned N804, N803, NHTM2, NHTM1, SCM1, SCM1S, ASW825, ASW855, HTM2D, HTM1D, 805D2, 805D3. I may be forgetting a few.

In addition to my first N802s I still own 805 Sig, 800D3, HTM1D3, CT7.3, CT7.4, 702S2 and Matrix 801S2.

I find the D3 series to be the best of what I have owned.

As far as horns mentioned, the new Klipsch Heritage line has caught my attention and I have a room in mind for those. Maybe I’ll give them a go with a MC275, but I always have B&W in the house.
Wow!!
I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on N802 to 802 D3 upgrade. I love my N802's, too.

Sounds like the perfect mistake to make though.

I've owned 800D2's since 2013 and now is the time for me to upgrade, but I'll definitely be keeping the 800D2's. I was thinking of 800D3's but possibly 802's or 803's + subs. I'll be building a dedicated AV room with emphasis on two channel audio, so the room construction and dimensions will be optimized for flattest response and freedom from resonances.

I have had my 800 D3's since December '19. They were an upgrade from 802D3's purchased 6/17 when I moved to a house with a larger room. I should have waited to hear the 802's in the new room before upgrading as they would likely worked close to as well as the 800's in many ways but not moving large speakers as part of the move worked out well. I'm thrilled with the 800's.

My B&W history:

07/1973 - 02/1989 DM70 Continental walnut; (new electrostatic units 1983, new LF driver diaphragms 1985); powered by Marantz 1200

02/1989 - 07/1993 Matrix 801 series 2 black; powered by Accuphase C-280V / P-800

07/1993 - 10/2011 Matrix 801 series 3 black; powered by Accuphase C-280V / P-800

10/2011 - 10/2018 800 Diamond (800 D2) black; powered by Accuphase C-3850 / 2x A-200

10/2018 - ??/???? 800 D3 black; powered by Accuphase C-3850 / 2x A-250

As an average I did buy new speakers every 11,25 years so far, but I think the 800 D3 have been the very last one.

To answer the OP's original question, we've owned a pair of 802Ns and a pair of 805Ns since 2004. Much like oneofew wrote, we were ecstatic when we heard the 802Ns in the dealer sound room and we're ecstatic every time we hear them now. We've heard the newer 800-series models...and we've even had the original Nautilus design auditioned for us...but we've yet to hear anything that warranted selling our 802Ns and taking out a second to purchase the newer B&Ws.

I got my first pair of Nautilus 805s in 2001 before I went to college and they still work like the day I got them and look classic
