McIntosh source gears will give the complete blue/green look in the dark. Charming ...

For vintage, I would choose from DeWick's stable the C26 & MC2105 & MR77. Same year, same look ...

I am looking forward to one as nice as Ivan's. Hopefully, my patience will pay off.

Cheers!
I'm going from memory but I think they were 93db 1/watt/meter. I guess that's fairly high but I like to play my music loud at times and those speakers can handle quite a bit of power. I'd prefer to throw more power at them.

Ivan - as a long time owner of the iconic L300s, am wondering if you could describe their sound, both good and bad, with modern electronics. Do the extended highs & lows even power output of today's amps create problems for the L300? A mini-review, if you will.
Thanks.

They still amaze me, and sound phenomenal. I’m using a Luxman pre-amp and Bryston Amp.

Considering their age, and the fact that mine were in a Time Capsule; I bought mine brand new about 5~6 years ago. Try buying a brand new pair today; not mint, I mean brand new!

I’ll still smitten by them after all these years, and literally many dozens of speakers later; I will own these probably forever.

Default L-300's

Master Lu,

My wife is with you on the L-300's being the forever speaker in our house. we have the great fortune of being friends with the JBL "legacy engineering staff".

Direct from the old Harmon Team.... If your L-300's need attentiion you'd be hard pressed to find better than Ken Haeer (Mr. Edgewound) at Upland Speakers in SoCal.

No affiliation other than I've seen his work and he comes reccommended by the old guard at the Harmon "Northridge Campus"

Cheers
Kent

One foot in the grave for sure so you better hurry up! Just kidding :-) The L300's are to die for.
