Onboard decoding or bitstream.
Onboard decoding or Bitstream, for HT Bluray dvds??
Do you think there is a difference in sound quality (sq), if you use a very good Player and AVR? Seem as if it should be the same, either ways. (Lossless) But I do not have any experience in testing both ways. |

Bitstream, always! If you AVR can do it, always have it do the processing.
They are spec'd nearly identically, but there is a conversion from the original bitstream to LPCM. Either way since you are sending the digital signal you get whatever active EQ is on the receiver, but if you want the "untouched" and "pure" original datastream, you wait until it is in the receiver to do the decode to analog directly (rather than Bit->LPCM->Analog).
