Note: I just added a Pass XP-30 Preamp to my system last week.
According to Stereophile and the Absolute Sound reviews, the XP-30 is among the best there is. It has far exceeded my expectations, hopes or desires.

The "E" has fallen head over heels in LOVE with the XP-30. The little guy is an absolute show-off, titillating the XP into a musical orgasm.

When you consider the remarkable price for this Music Server that does so much more than just copy "Bit for Bit", it is amazing how it can play so easily with the Big Boys in audio. The natural, lifelike presentation of this combination has made my years of searching well worth the efforts.

Honestly, if you need a music server or just want to replace yours, give Emile a call. He can make the "E" in any combination of features you would desire with virtually unlimited NAS. The silver or black cabinet will look exquisite with any electronics out there.

Howard I just read this after posting a question on another thread....... Looks like you recommend the "E" which carries a lot of weight in my book.

Yeah, let me jump in a bit.

What you have with the eSilentPC and with the fella behind it, and for the price point, service, etc., etc., is exactly what you are looking for, as far as I can tell from the postings thus far. You can go other routes, such as a Mac mini, or a Bryston BDP-2, among many others, and you can be very happy. But what E has put together is not only powerful in terms of moving electrons around, but also in terms of storage and expansion. It will do you for what you may need well into the future. It will also look very classy sitting next to whatever system decor you have designed for yourself. Plus, you get a person to handhold you through all the setup, and a person who absolutely loves this hobby.

My advice. Get the eSilentPC, the tablet of your choice (I use an iPad, but others are fine), JRiver on the eSilentPC controlled with either JRemote on an iOS device or Gizmo for android. Put all your CD's onto the NAS that you should get with the eSilentPC, turn up the volume and be done with it.

As I said, there are other alternatives, but this one in my book is the best. Simplist. Most rewarding.

(Confession. I do not own one of E's machines, but if I didn't build my own, which I have, I would. Guess who gave me kind, patient, free advice? And, as folks know on this forum, I HATE over priced equipment that just puts a pretty face on a mediocre build. Why would anyone date a super model who never graduated from high school? .......... Don't answer that.)

Thank you for the kind words, Pider.

Except I would certainly date a dumb super model... but wouldn't fall in love - as HK has!
