How do the Stillpoints compare?

Anybody using Steve Blinn's new IsoPed's? These are piquing my interest at a more sane cost.

I've had some success with the Coffman Labs products

http://www.audioaficionado.org/isola...labs-feet.html

They are inexpensive enough for you to try. I'm thinking of moving to Stillpoint at some time in the future though.

I think we need to get some of the Isopods in the hands of a few of the forums more discriminating members and get some opinions.

At the price, and based upon the fact that they work on essentially the same principle, it would make sense to find out if they have the effectiveness.

Even if they were only 80-90% it would be good to know.

Just sent Steve Blinn and email. I want to try a set under my Silenzio and/or my Oppo 105D as a starter.

If you know you'll transition to the stillpoints, why spend money elsewhere?:.. scratch2:....

Still points is currently the benchmark for comparison. Prior to their existence there was another product that held this position.

Isopods were only just released to market two weeks ago and may well have the characteristics to claim this position.

On top of this, this is the first time in my life that I have considered buying such a product. In the past two weeks I have spent more money on a system than I really ever thought about spending. Which is all good, but here is the dilemma. In this new pursuit of quality, I am now spending more money on cables and isolation than I had previously spent on an entire sound system.

This obviously puts questions in my head about value.

Now, along comes a new company that may put out a comparable product at half the price. Well, considering I am looking at somewhere in the 10-15K range to isolate everything with Stillpoints. Inquiring minds want to know.

While there is definitely science behind the concept, competition is always good for the consumer.

They piqued my interest as well, but shipping costs and import duties and other taxes rule out a trial. If I were US based, it would be a different story.

Default Very exciting to see AA members discussing our new Isoped footers

Thank you Chrisandalex1 for mentioning, in this thread, our new Isoped vibration isolation footers. And thank you to the members who have seen our ads and have posted comments herein. We devoted the better part of this past year immersed in experimentation with the goal of bringing the newest ball bearing isolation technology to the average audiophile at realistic prices while providing equal or greater sonic improvements than what is currently being offered. We believe that we have met and, as some of our customers are trying to convince us, surpassed our goal. I normally don't believe in quoting customer reviews, but since our Isopeds are so new and it will be a while until major print or web based review sites will have time in their schedules to do reviews of our Isopeds, I decided to make an exception. The following is an actual word for word (promise) reprint of a customer's review that I received this past week.
This review was received from and is presented with the kind permission of Daniel Babeux Quebec, Canada:
"Just been listening for the last 30 minutes to the mid-size Isoped and
want to tell you that these sound incredible. I have some well recorded
CDs (Bliss- So many of us, Nouvelle Vague – Bande à Part, Dead Can Dance - Spiritchaser)
which I know by heart and heard new sounds in the background that I
never heard previously. Bass is tremendous and clean, treble is airy and
there is an overall sense of ‘thereness’ and spaciousness. This is an
incredible product. I am putting an additional order right now!"
He actually did put in his second order for an additional 8 Isopeds right after I received his review.
If anyone has any questions, I am always available and will be happy to answer. sblinderman@hotmail.com or call Steve at (917) 361-4701
