I see the manual recommends to use an outboard X-overwith the subs,BUT if
your speakers already have passive, then is it still necessary,if it is wouldn't
the speakersX-over interfere with the active X-over.
An active x-over is especially useful with small monitors that don't preform well below mid-bass. The idea is to remove bass from the monitor and let them do mids, highs and maybee some mid-bass. Letting the sub do all the heavy work really increases clarity and overall performance of the monitors.

Default X-over

I've been setting my sites on a used 10B-sub Xover(actually just missed one) on
Audiogon, they don't pop up often and sometimes E-bay.
I could go for a Velodyne, but as most of my gear is Bryston and the 10B is one of the top X-overs,that's the road I'll take,a patient road I suppose. Thanks for the reply. My mains are Revel 50a's,but if I can squeeze or free up some more musicallity out of them, then I's happy.
BP-26pre,28SST's,bcd-1 bda-1,F-113'sX4 ect.
