Hello from North jersey
Finally I am able to post a thread so here it goes.
Have been a Stereo/audiophile since I can remember. It has always been about the music but building a system has always been part of the enjoyment. I am still using my first high end Stereo I purchased new In the late 70's for my office system. Mac C26, Mac 2505, Accuphase T-100 tuner Tandberg 10X RR Technics SL1400 MkII with MA 2002 cartridge, Nak 680ZX into Fried R3 signature series. I have to admit after all these years it still sounds as i recall back in the day. Fried's need some work though. The system sat unused since HS in my parents house until I recently transferred it over. I am amazed at how well it held up. Looking forward to bringing it back to spec. Many systems have come and gone. Looking back I have sold far more equipment than I should have. Complete systems and components from Crown, Carver, SAE, Marantz, Accuphase, Yamaha, PS Audio, Sansui, Pioneer, Adcom, Audio Research, Technics, NAD, KEF, Krell, Tandberg, Hafler, Dynaco, Dynakit, SME, Grace, Shure, Sota, Nakamichi and so much more I can't recall. Getting old sucks. I am also into Home Theater which is completely separate. I have never been a huge fan of projectors so I am currently using a Panasonic plasma 65" VT50 along with Arcam AVR600 7.1 through a complete set of Dali Helicon speakers. There is more HT eq I have gone through than stereo and I still have a lot of LD players and things lying around like many of you I am sure. Currently I am building my main system which has come along way. I have a pair of Accuphase A30s bridged mono fed by a Shindo Masseto, Transrotor darkstar with Jelco 750 and Clear Audio DaVinci cartridge. I am not a huge CD fan so I am using an Arcam DV29 for CD playback and plan on addressing that later for now I am playing with a pair of Totem Winds and JL sub until I can find the speaker that works best for me cosmetically and tonally. I use audience cables and have recently sent in a pair for the new SE upgrade and will see how they work. This seems to be a great community and I hope to learn and contribute as much as possible. Also if you haven't guessed I like cars preferably Porsche's
