My unfortunate experience having to go through a couple of my own repairs, either from the same symptoms as the OP or from not working altogether. Each case ended up being the electronics failing. In addition to my own experience, I've noticed this from the ones read on other forums and talking to our JL distributor.

But I'm happy to report that JL audio has stepped up each time and resolved the issue under warranty (in Canada we get 5YR). I'm confident they would support owners even after the warranty.

I agree and what's important is that the manufacturer will be around for support even after the warranty has expired, which I feel JL will be.

UPDATE:
Received the RMA and Case # information from Barry at JL Audio on Monday night.

On Tuesday morning, got the F112 (BEAST!) upstairs. With the help of my 14 year old daughter, boxed it up Tuesday night (fortunately I saved the box and packing materials).

Filled out the FedEx shipping information and placed it on the front porch Wednesday morning (scheduled a home pick up).

Just got notification that FedEx has picked it up, so it's on its way.

I’ll update as information becomes available.

UPDATE:

My F112 safely arrived at my house today and I have it hooked up now, it's sounding very good. There was no indication on the paperwork what was repaired/replaced, I speculate it was the amp?

Very happy with JL Audio repair process and cost. From Chicago to Mirarmar and back in almost 3 weeks was great. Repair cost was very reasonable! Sub was boxed up as new with manual mic, gloves, etc. Looks better now than when I sent it.

Of course this couldn't have been done without Ivan's help so I say THANK YOU!

Ivan, does WW make headphone cables? I need a longer cable for listening on my home system.
