FM antenna
I am using a non-powered TERK indoor antenna attached to the TM-1 off my C45 and it works OK. In fact, I have a few of these TERKs and use them on my MR71, MR78, MR80, MAC1500 and they all work well. I prefer indoor antenna as I am concern if there is lighting during storm, it will not fry the tuner. I am sure the outdoor antenna will pull in more channel, but... hate to zap any tuner.
I also have a powered TERK and find them work best with the power knob turned all the way down or the power adapter not even plug-in. Meaning I really don't need to amplified the RF at all. However, for my garage set, I need to use the powered TERK on the MAC1700. You can get them at BB. LN

The fmdxantenna showed up Friday. Installation was easy with the mounting hardware as I mounted it on my satelite dish just under the eve at a horizontal position on the south end of my house at approx 15'aff.
I went to the MX119 for testing, It pulled in every station within 35 miles at a signal strength level of 9 (highest on TM-1 Tuner) on 12 stations. I need to do some research but it seems to be pulling in stations far,far way which I have never experienced. Maybe Dan can chime in and give me a few Gainseville or Starke stations to test. At the moment, it is outside which I'm worried about here in Florida with those afternoon thunderstorms right around the corner. I'll give this antenna a thumbs up |
