Default Shunyata Viper - New lower cost Zitron pc

Shunyata have released the Viper, an 11 gauge Zitron power cable at $595.

Info from the Shunyata website...

For anyone seeking state-of-the-art performance without the sticker-shock price-tag, the line starts here...

Do not be fooled by the Viper power cord's reasonable price. Every facet of the Viper design has been optimized for no-compromise performance. Using Shunyata's DTCD Analysis, the Viper was designed to be compatible with all reference caliber recording or home electronics systems. The Viper's 11 gauge conductors make it ideal for the high-current amplifiers while maintaining the delicate nuances required by reference grade source components. The Viper is also extremely compliant and flexible so that it can be used anywhere and fit into almost any tight space. Shunyata's extensive competitive testing has found that no comparable product, even at four-times its price, can compete with the Viper's transparency, dynamics and purity of tone.

Given Caelin Gabriel's recent focus on delivering more detail and a lower sound floor even further down their product range if he has managed reference performance for a power cable in at $595 this could be one bit of gear that may just set the snakes amongst the price point pigeons.

I thought the Hydra HC 9 ga was the go-to for high current applications without the pricetag...

Vipers 11 ga could be great for source components though.

That's the way I'd think also, I had a VTX HC for a while and thought it offered a great overall balance if not the timbre, detail and speed of the Zitrons... will be interesting to hear the Viper when it gets out...

Do you think there would be any conflicts going with the new Viper PCs if all other cables are Wireworld?

Kev,

It seems like I have read a number of times it is best not to mix and match. If yours are playing nice together that is good to know. You are a way higher up the ladder on your cables than I am. Once I get my hot little hands on your WW Sliver Eclipse speaker cables, that just leaves power cords.

Should probably look for Hydra HC if powering a power conditioner.
