Default The 360 Fraternal Twins

On the maiden voyage home from the dealer, rowing through the 360 Spider's gated manual, enjoying the aroma of the fine Italian leather, admiring the beautiful interior, all the while the sweet symphony emanating from the motor located just behind me was exciting my ears and intoxicating my soul.

My left hand grasping the beautiful steering wheel, left foot working the clutch and my right hand grasping the round knob and commanding the gear shifter through the gates with a very rewarding and positive "click" at every stop along the way to the redline in each gear.... Gentlemen, motoring fun does not get much better than this!

I was grinning ear to ear and was completely satisfied in the way this 360 Spider with only 1k miles since 2003 felt and drove. Stark difference to the 360 Challenge Stradale and they compliment each other beautifully! The 360 CS is a lightweight, nimble road rocket that telepathically communicates with you every inch of the road through the suspension, the steering wheel, it's chassis. The 360 CS does not forgive any foolishness with the right foot or silly tactics on the twisties. One either drives the 360 CS with respect and skill or one quickly finds himself looking the opposite way of where one was going a split second before that!

The 360 Spider is much more compliant, supple and forgiving. This is what relaxed, confident, pure pleasure without drama driving is all about. The Spider rewards you with the open air, the tactile feel of the steering, gated shifter and the sweet but much more civilized motor symphony behind you.

These two cars came from the same generation and they are indeed fraternal twins, one being born the natural leader with a loud and bold personality and the other having the softer, more gently spoken and gentler natured soul.

I am very excited to have both in my garage and looking forward to spending time with each individually depending on my mood, driving destination and the weather while they reward me with their natural abilities and different characters.

Here they are, united in my garage and getting to know each other.

What a beautiful pair of cars, Serge!!

I know exactly what you are saying about how they complement each other and offer unique driving pleasure depending on what you are in the mood for. I think I have somewhat similar serendipity going with my Turbo S Cab and the GT3.
