A single Defender is sufficient. There is very little improvement to noise reduction when measured with the power analyzer by adding a second unit. We will be posting screen captures from the power analyzer soon. We are always a bit behind on the website.

However, there are significant advantages to adding Defenders at various locations. Specifically, targeting noise producing devices such as a computer or fluorescent lighting. Plugging a Defender into the same socket as the computer will intercept the noise kicked back onto the power line by the computer. Of course, it will provide surge and noise protection to the computer but the audiophile benefit is that the power circuits will be quieter.
