Default MCD600 - Opinions?

Looking to add a CD player to my McIntosh rig.
Is this model ready for a refresh? I believe its been available for 3 or 4 years.
Any known issues reported?
I know the MCD12000 was just released but it is beyond my budget, unfortunately.
Thanks!

Do you need/want SACD? Is it important that this be McIntosh? If both answers are "no", I would take a look at the Naim Uniti Core before pulling the trigger.

Hi...
SACD = No
McIntosh = Yes (since other main components are)

Here's a nice review from Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, nice player, especially for the price and if you want to stick with Mc gear.

I haven't seen this one...thanks.

Reviews all seem pretty consistent and I haven't read of any customer complaints like I have with the 500.

I would prefer to have a USB input on the rear and omit the USB port on the front panel.

MCD600 is a great looking piece. Like that it has the proper knobs on the front. If I ever decide to "go digital", would build my system around the MCD600. Do agree, should have a USB port on the rear, as well.

does the 600 fast forward and fast reverse within a track?
I have a 500 which plays good ... but ...
the 500 does not fast forward nor fast reverse.
The 500 only jumps forward or back to the beginning of the tracks.
