And I have a brand new VPI Avenger on order! Grinnin' from ear to ear I am ...

You guys think this will be a nice upgrade from my trusty Technics SL1300 Mk2?

Now I may have to sell one of my light organs ...

What cartridge will you be going with?

I know right! Actually, my preamp is an early McIntosh C200 with the high-end Ortofon SUT. So, my plan was eventually to have a Cadenza Black, A-95, etc. mounted on the arm and making use of that SUT.

But, I'm in no hurry to get there as the journey is half the fun.

At some point you need to look into some of the better Soundsmith carts. Dollar for dollar they are stupendous performers.

Sounds like a great plan. Am very pleased with my Cdnza Blk, but could see going up to the A-90 or A-95 at some point. Also use a SUT in preference to a high-gain phono-stage. Am now at the point am playing with different headshells. Another bit of our gentle madness.
