I expect vinyl users will continue use physical EQ (if they like EQ that is).

Probably not for digital users. Digital will continue to undergo lots of evolution. Most users can adjust EQ in the digital realm before it is translated to analog. I thought about the new device since my C1100 has no EQ, but for me living in a purely digital world I can do more with Roon.

I’d like to see subscription services where you could sign up for transforms to albums/songs which are automatically applied instead of turning it on and off as you must today. Or at least remembered when I adjust them (if no service).

AI techniques will also get good at this some day. Beyond EQ, by sampling enough music it may even be able to enhance or completely remix/re-record old and damaged recordings. Learning how different versions of instruments sound when played different ways in different environments by different artists. They can do sound-similar speaking voices already. At first it will be bad, but eventually we’ll have high res Billy Holiday and so much more.

I’ll leave SciFi worm holes to old recording sessions to a future discussion.
